Patrick is from East Vancouver and has spent the last 20 years raising his children in and around the Commercial Drive area. He worked with people with mental disabilities for many years before pursuing an undergrad degree in history at Simon Fraser University. Patrick then worked as a youth worker at an educational and recreational program for at-risk youth in Vancouver operated by a non-profit organization. He enjoyed this work immensely and was often impressed by the resilience of the youth that attended the program, as well as their desire to learn and grow. Patrick went on to law school at the University of British Columbia and now works out of an office in East Vancouver where he mainly practices criminal and family laws, including services to youth. His desire to pursue a career in law was partly inspired by experiences with the criminal justice and corrections systems that young people shared with him. When not working Patrick enjoys time with his family and friends, good food, travel, playing hockey, and reading fiction. He joined the Peak House board in order to continue to be involved in providing services to youth in his community.
